Come to the Community Shop, Granville Arcade, this Saturday 27th November for a special preview of the new Brixton Town Centre illustrated map!
Brixton Community Trust commissioned local artist Clare Skillbeck, famous for producing the Brockwell Park illustrated map, to undertake a similar study of the town centre - the result can be seen below. The map features dozens of local buisnesses and community groups and is designed as a fund-raiser for the Railway Hotel project.
Just one thing missing - we need to add some appropriate text. The text should provide some historical context as well as a vision of how we see the town centre developing in the future. This is where you can help!

Many thanks to everyone in the Town Centre who worked so hard to make last week's Royal Visit such a success. We're still waiting for official photographs, in the meantime a youtube video of the event can be found here.

We've just received a significant amount of grant funding for the Railway Hotel Project. This will enable us to complete the required architectural work and update the business plan before receiving the main bulk of funding.
We've met with Lambeth and are promised another meeting at the end of the month. If all goes well, we'll complete the next stage of work over the next 3 or 4 months and begin building work in January 2011.
